A free QR code that never expires
Static codes have nothing to expire. Dynamic ones here keep resolving after a downgrade, a cancellation, or a limit breach — by architecture, with a test.

Worth knowing before you reprint anything
Static: unlimited, no account, no watermark
Make as many as you like without signing up. Nothing is stamped on the code and nothing counts the scans, because there is no server in the path to count them.
Dynamic: 5 on the free tier
Five editable codes, 2,000 tracked scans a month, 30 days of history. Read from the plan table rather than written on a page: the numbers here and the numbers the product enforces are the same numbers.
The claim you should distrust everywhere, including here
"Never expires" is worth exactly as much as the mechanism behind it. Ask what happens on cancellation, and ask to be shown rather than told. Ours is a named test file.
The short version, in 4 facts
- A static code has nothing that can expire
- The destination is inside the symbol. No server is in the path, so there is nothing anyone — including us — can switch off after you print it.
- Static codes here are unlimited and need no account
- No sign-up, no watermark, no scan limit. Make one above and download it in PNG, SVG, PDF, EPS or WEBP.
- Dynamic codes are a real promise, because a service sits in the middle
- The free tier carries 5 of them, 2,000 tracked scans a month and 30 days of history.
- What ours do when you stop paying
- They keep resolving to their last destination. A downgrade past the cap, a cancellation and a breached scan limit each leave every printed code working — one regression test per clause, run every release.
What ours does when you stop paying
It keeps resolving. A printed code never stops resolving is an architectural rule here with a regression test per clause: a downgrade past the cap leaves every printed code resolving, a cancellation sweeps the organisation into continuity rather than off, and being over the cap does not stop the codes already there. What degrades is measurement.

What "never" excludes
Erasing your account anonymises the resolution path rather than deleting it, so the codes keep working without your identity attached. Deliberately taking a destination down is a separate request and it changes what those codes do — that one is you choosing, which is the difference that matters.
Make one that cannot expire
Decide whether you will ever need to change the destination
If the answer is no, choose static and the expiry question disappears entirely. If it might be yes, you need a dynamic code and the provider's continuity behaviour becomes the thing that matters.
Make the static code above and download a vector file
Enter the URL, text or Wi-Fi details. Take SVG, PDF or EPS if it is going to print — those scale to any size, where a PNG is fixed at the pixels you downloaded.
Check it at the size you will actually print
The print size calculator gives the minimum for your scan distance. A code that never expires but was printed too small has still stopped working.
If you chose dynamic, read what happens at the cap
Past five codes you cannot create another and scans stop being counted. Every code already printed keeps resolving, and you keep editing all five.
Questions
Is the free tier a trial?
No. There is no expiry on the tier and no expiry on codes made under it.
Will you add a watermark or a redirect later?
A static code cannot be changed after printing by us or anyone — there is no server in its path. That is a property of static codes, not a promise about our conduct.
What is the catch on unlimited static codes?
They cannot be edited or measured. If you need to change a destination after printing, you need a dynamic code, and that is where the tier limits apply.
How long does a static QR code last?
As long as the thing it points at, and as long as the object it is printed on. The symbol is a fixed pattern with no clock in it; a code printed today will decode to the same string in twenty years if the ink survives.
Do I need an account to download?
No. The generator runs in your browser and the file is produced on your device. An account is only needed for dynamic codes, because those need something to resolve them.
Is the free tier limited to a number of scans?
Static codes have no scan limit — nothing counts them, because there is no server in their path. Dynamic codes stop being COUNTED past 2,000 scans in a month and carry on resolving.
What if this company shuts down?
Every static code you have downloaded keeps working, because we are not in its path. Dynamic codes depend on the redirect host resolving, which is exactly the dependency to weigh before printing — and the reason the static option is the honest answer to this query.
