QR codes get used for phishing. A shared short-link domain means one bad actor can damage every legitimate code on it, so our enforcement is automated, and strict where it matters most.
What we check, and when
Every destination is screened when a code is created, edited or imported, and active destinations are re-screened every week against threat-intelligence lists, including Google Safe Browsing.
- Phishing, malware, unwanted software
- Suspended automatically when a provider reports the destination as malicious. The code shows a warning page instead of redirecting.
- Newly registered domains
- A domain less than 30 days old shows a caution page first rather than a block, because new domains are often legitimate.
- Lookalike domains
- Hostnames using mixed scripts or lookalike characters are flagged for a person to review.
Reporting a code
Use the form below or write to the abuse address. You do not need an account. Give the short code or the destination and what it does. Reports are screened as soon as they arrive and reviewed by a person within 24 hours.
We act on valid orders from courts and government agencies under the IT Act 2000 and the IT Rules 2021, and on complaints about unlawful content within the time those rules set.
If your code was suspended wrongly
Write to the abuse address with the short code. A person reviews every appeal and tells you the outcome and the reason. Automated systems produce false positives, and we would rather restore a legitimate code quickly than defend a wrong decision. Continuity Mode protects codes from billing outcomes, not from abuse enforcement, so a suspended code does not redirect until it is restored.
If you disagree with the outcome of an appeal, our grievance officer is Rajesh Dalsaniya, Grievance officer and CEO, Agochar Tech LLP, 415 Decora Square, Sadhu Vasvani Road, Rajkot 360005, Gujarat, India. Email grievance@qrcodegenerator.in, telephone +91 86986 76976.
